This wonderfully typographic calendar is the work of Sonner, Vallée u. Partner in Munich, Germany. It is a true information architecture project, letterpress printed on thick cotton paper. Check out their online portfolio for some crisp and polished typographic excellence.

Beast Pieces printed on Crane Lettra Pearl White 220lb (600gsm) cotton stock in two colors - with deep impression text you can’t help but touch. The sheet is a large 420 x 297 mm.

Featuring contributions from Jeremy Tankard, Vince Frost, David Pearson, Jonathan Barnbrook and plenty of others - the calendar showcases the 53 contributers favorite typefaces for a given letter (along with a brief explanation).

The calendar is A2 in size and has one letter/contributer per week, we can't wait to get our hands on one.

I've seen a few lovely calendars this year, thought I might as well share them with you.... here's the first one by Mash Creative - The posters are printed 2 colour litho on 170gsm cyclus offset with a 60% cyan shiner to achieve an extra rich black. Each poster is hand numbered and signed by the designer. Only 100 were printed and you can purchase one exclusively from Counter Objects.

The clear sticky tape features words of wisdom from a selection of well-respected graphic designers set in good ol' Helvetica. Designers quoted are Mark Farrow, Michael C. Place, Wim Crouwel, Adrian Shaughnessy, Tony Brook, Ben Stott, Storm Thordeson, Daniel Eatock and Hamish Muir. "It's based on the principle 'that good advice sticks'," says Blanka's Mark Blamire.

This week sees the launch of a new Turkish-language edition of the New York Times’ International Weekly, distributed for free with the Sunday edition of Turkey’s Sabah newspaper. To advertise the launch, the newspapers commissioned this incredible animation - a typographic tour starting from Liberty Island, across various bits of Manhattan, very nearly making it over to Brooklyn before arriving on the Bosphorus with a gorgeous view of Istanbul rendered in type.

I've been a big fan of Robert Lindström's Design Chapelfor some time now. They've just released a new site with all their recent works, and have created a free font vector called 'Black Nun Bold', if you like it; Download typefacehere as an illustrator file.

Here is a small selection of some of Simon Page's "typography is everything" series which fit in the category of hard to read. Over the last couple of months Simon has produced a number of designs which he made difficult to read on purpose and I like to think they try to push the boundaries of typography.
